I began my weight loss journey in 2013 when I realized how unhappy and unhealthy my lifestyle had become. So, I decided to take control of my fitness and began lifting and counting calories. Results came quickly, but so did my plateau. Without the guidance and knowledge needed, I soon became frustrated in the fact that I could no longer lose weight and thought that lifting heavier was the way to go.
I was wrong and instead I injured myself and had to take a break from working out resulting in some weight gain. Then along came Kyle! I have been training with Kyle since he opened Hart for Heart in 2017 and could not be any happier of meeting such a dedicated trainer. Kyle has provided me with the knowledge I need to succeed. In the last year, I have lost more than 30 lbs,
I have gone from wearing a size 17 /19 in pants to a size 8, my heart is healthier and it’s all thanks to Kyle and the atmosphere he provides at Hart 4 Heart!
My name is John Shamo and I am one of Kyle’s clients, well more like best friends now. I got started with him in April of 2017, so I’ve been training with him for about a year and 9 months.
There came a point in time where I felt like I was in a constant rut with my life and I wasn’t progressing towards anything. I had a decent job and that’s literally it, nothing more than going to work and coming home. Although I wasn’t diagnosed with depression or anything like that, I was always down on myself and rarely did I experience happiness. I was scared of bettering myself and moving forward with my life. I was going to the gym but it was only because I had too and not because I wanted to.
One day I woke up and something inside me shifted. I looked in the mirror and I just mental told myself that I’m sick of how I look and how I feel. My Mom told me to call Kyle and set up a training session. I went and we both vibed and I actually had a fun time working out. I knew that Kyle was supposed to be my trainer. When I started with Kyle I weighed 240 lbs., had a big ol’ belly, 0 confidence, and no goals in life.
Fast forward a year and 9 months later, I’m down 15 lbs., shifted my body mass so I’m leaner than I’ve ever been, have more confidence in myself than my entire life combined, and I’m enrolled in a Physical Therapy Assistance program.
Yeah on paper Kyle is a personal trainer, but that’s not he does. He holds you accountable for your own health and motivates you to push yourself harder. Kyle’s mission is to genuinely guide people to a healthy lifestyle and make you a better version of yourself. Without Kyle’s help, I honestly think I would still be in that same, mundane, boring rut.
Holly started her weight loss journey almost 5 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Holly was just over the 300 lb mark and decided she was tired of being tired, being in pain, and missing out on a whole lot of things in life. I met Holly about 2 1/2 years ago when she started at orange theory fitness where she came to my classes at multiple locations and people thought she was crazy doing back to backs.
Then my gf Leah Ann was in a horrible accident and I left orange theory and started full-time training in my garage . Holly picked up her game and started coming to see me 6 times a week. Holly has been my client for over two years now and has lost 140 pounds, and went down 11 pants sizes.
She is now so passionate about helping others have the same success as her that she has gotten her certification in personal training and is currently working on another certification in nutrition coaching.
